Interesting, this is the second former bank building after the Lost & Found in Birmingham
, that converted in a good bar and took care of me for an evening. The Gin Sum Club is actually a restaurant and a bar that has the appearance of a british gentlemen's club with a little asian touch in its menu. Old fashioned but in a fancy way.
What I like is, that the bar with its space for almost 110 guests still looks cosy and private. It has a big bar counter in the middle of the room, the open kitchen in the back and a mixture of lounge seats and chairs around. This way it doesn't feel like ordering drinks in a restaurant but you can still have diner and drinks in the same place if you want to.
It was a tuesday night, so we ordered G&T, of course.
The menu and the bartender gave us recommendations for good Gin and Tonic combinations, which is nice for an adventurous costumer. Actually I am not one of them, but thats okay. They actually had a nice selection of drinks, so I have a good reason to come back and try something else. Cheers!
